Tina W. asks: Just found out we have to report to Osan AFB in July. We are Army. Any advice when should we apply for command sponsorship? I'm pregnant expecting baby in Feb. Should we wait til baby is here? How long does it take to get approved? What about visas?

So I hope I?「どィび「m putting this in the right spot, if not feel free to move it.

First and foremost, let me start off by saying that I love living in Korea. My husband and I have been interested in the Asian culture for a long time (specifically Japan) so getting the opportunity to come to Korea on the government?「どィび「s money was awesome! However, I do know that living in Korea is not for everyone and that I feel bad for those spouses that hate it here.

Specifically in Osan (which is an Air Force base) you?「どィび「ve got all your run of the mill military goodies (BX, commissary, library, movie theater, fast food joints, Chilis, etc) plus the ville right outside the main gate where you can buy all sorts of stuff from name brand purses to sports gear to Asian themed decorations. The Koreans love to haggle over prices, so if you?「どィび「re a bargain shopper?「どィャカ.game on!

Osan?「どィび「s ITT (information, tickets and travel) offers all sorts of trips and tours that families and singles soldiers can enjoy. They frequently go to Everland and Lotte World (amusement parks) as well as temple tours and trips to Seoul. Typically everything is covered in the price (admission, transportation, lodging if necessary) but food and souvenirs. Although sometimes they cover the cost of your food as well.

The Koreans are also very nice friendly people who love little kids. Your major forms of transportation tend to be taxis, buses, subways or walking. It?「どィび「s completely normal to see people walking down the street with their little cart of groceries or shopping through bargain bins of clothes at the 4/9 market (a market that is set up on everyday that ends in a 4 or 9).
